Unfortunate Circumstances

The loss of our association’s Secretary, Pilgrim Donald K Foley, has come as a great shock to all of us. For those who are still curious as to his funeral arrangements, none were made, as Don donated his body to science.

A Circle of Life and a Pilgrim memorial service will be held for Don Foley on March 10th, 2018, at Oshawa Lodge 2132, 731 Wilson Rd S, Oshawa, On., from 1 - 4 p.m..

For the time being, please forward all association communications, ie: per capita taxes, donations, conference registration, scholarships, etc... to the acting Secretary, Fellow Bob Gaudet, 8 -176 Henry St. Brantford On. N3S-5C8. His phone # is: 519-757-2180.

Moose Legion Area Manager’s Message

Ontario Moose Legion

At the present time Pilgrim Ashley Coffin of Sudbury Lodge 230 & Nickel City Moose Legion # 29 is serving on the International Moose Legion Council. In approximately 5 years he will become International Moose Legion President.

This will be a special honour not only for Ontario Moose Legions and the Ontario Moose Association but all lodges and Moose Legions in Canada. Not since 2002-2003 when Pilgrim John Lund of Red Deer Alberta # 1369 & Northern Alberta Moose Legion # 79 has a Canadian been International Moose Legion President.

With this honour comes an obligation for our Moose Legions and Association to raise funds. We are hoping to raise between $5000.00 to $6000.00.

We are asking each Moose Legion to hold a function, raffle, special event, Honour Enrollment, 50-50 invite a guest speaker (Deputy Supreme Governor) Gerald Conrad, any kind of event that will raise some funds. We do not wish to designate specific amounts.

We know our Moose Legions will HELP….and we THANK YOU!

At the convention (Sarnia 2017) it was determined that cheques should be sent to Ontario Moose Association. PLEASE! Earmark M L Presidents Fund.

Thank You! Moose Legion Area Manager & Ambassadors Ken, Bob & Richard.

Canada Home Chairman’s Message

I hope every one had a Happy New Year.

The Association lost a great asset on December 29th, when Pilgrim Don Foley passed, may he rest in peace.

As for Canada Home, on the wish list is bicycles. The boys would like new bikes as the ones they have are now too small.

Mooseheart Graduation will be held on June 2nd, at the Field House. The Grade 5 and 8 promotions will be held in the women's Gymnasium on June 1st, but don't forget your PIZZA PARTY on June 2nd, it will start about 1:30 p.m., right after the Pilgrim Conferral.

Hope to see you all at the Ontario Moose Association's Midyear Conference in Woodstock, April 12th - 15th. Bring your Pennies, Nickels, Dimes, Quarters, Loonies, Toonies, and Cheques with you to support Canada Home.

Ashley (pine box) Coffin,
and his assistant, Anita Audet.

Fund Raiser Beginning at April Conference

Ontario Moose Charities Chairmen has received an Official NHL Montreal Canadien's jacket donated by Co-worker Pat Kennedy from Ottawa Chapter.

At the conference in April, there will be tickets available for you to take back to your lodge and chapters to sell. The tickets and money need to be returned to us at the September Convention. All proceeds will be donated to the Centennial Fund.

Please support this endeavour.

Thank you,

Kelly and Liz Parker
